TUESDAY

Joan Didion reads at Barnes and Nobles, from her new novel, Blue Nights. Bring tissues.

WEDNESDAY

Put the Halloween costumes in storage, and get out the drag! Boo-Hooray’s Johan Kugelberg and Michael Daley present Ed Wood’s Sleaze Paperbacks, a show of rare paperbacks that are both pornographic and philosophical. RSVP to the opening here.

After that, head over to 92YTribeca for the Robert Flaherty Seminar film series, Snapshots: Tourism in Cinema, programmed by Miriam Bale. Agnes Varda’s 1981 documentary Murs Murs starts at 7:30 pm.

THURSDAY

The “ready-made artist” shows again! This time, at Metro Pictures. Claire Fontaine shows their new sculptures, paintings, videos and neon signs.

FRIDAY

It’s safe to say that the Maurizio Cattelan retrospective at the Guggenheim won’t be invoking any feelings of security. Before you go, let BOMB comfort you with Michèle Gerber Klein’s web-exclusive conversation with the artist here.

Tom Sach’s new show opens at Sperone Westwater. His interview with John Kessler might be a little more dated than the exhibition’s paintings and sculptures, but it’s definitely still awesome. Read on!
