BOMB offers unpaid internships in different fields including editorial, marketing, fundraising, archiving, and blog/new media.
Interns are expected to work three days a week for a minimum of three months. A BOMB internship is a great way to learn the history and inner workings of a nonprofit arts and literary publication.
All BOMB interns have the opportunity to write for our blog and to help out at numerous parties and events. Interns often receive press passes and complimentary tickets to various performances around New York.

BOMB is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented intern to assist the Development Associate with fundraising initiatives one day per week. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn how both magazines and non-profits function. This intern will work closely with the Development Associate on preparations for BOMB’s 33rd Anniversary Gala & Auction, which will be held in April 2014. The intern will also help with researching potential funders, developing grant narratives, and proofreading proposals. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong research skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Previous experience working in a non-profit or with benefit/event planning is a plus!
This internship requires a one day a week commitment of approximately four months beginning in January.
Print Editorial Internship
Editorial interns work closely with our small editorial staff transcribing, fact-checking, copy editing, reading submissions, and providing support during the production of our quarterly magazine. The ideal editorial intern will have a friendly demeanor, excellent proofreading skills, and a keen eye for detail and workflow. A BOMB editorial internship is a singular experience, since you will have the opportunity to take part in our unique editing process and be exposed to a variety of voices.
• Microsoft office, familiarity with InDesign a plus

Web Editorial Internship
Web editorial interns work closely with BOMB’s web editor to assist with editing, coding, and maintaining BOMB’s blog and website. This position requires a strong editorial background as well as extensive knowledge of social media and digital publishing solutions. In addition to routine maintenance of the blog and site, there will also be opportunities to write for the blog as well as brainstorm ideas for new columns and features. This is an unpaid position for a web savvy, motivated writer looking to gain editorial, multi-media and web-publishing experience.

Digital Archive: Indexing and Permissions
BOMB Magazine’s digital archive is evolving! Assistance is needed on the magazine’s website and database expansion. If you have a background in art and literature, an eye for detail, experience in library science and database work, this internship is perfect for you. Join a fun, creative group of artists, writers, musicians, and filmmakers committed to celebrating BOMB’s print legacy. The ideal candidates will be able to meet deadlines and work independently but function as a team when needed.
