FRIDAY

Don’t forget the eggnog at home when you attend Whitney Museum’s EMERGENCY CHEESECAKE curated by Jay Sanders and Wade Guyton. The night will be filled with decadent performances by artists and DJ’s. Festivities begin at 6pm.

Tonight the New Museum will showcase Come Closer: Art Around the Bowery, 1969–1989 by musical veteran and artist Arto Lindsay featuring live performances by the man himself.

SATURDAY

ICI continues to make accessible artists’ missions from all over the world. Don’t miss their partnership with TEMP this evening. Opening reception begins at 6pm.

Take a memorable, thought-provoking journey with some of the world’s most remarkable photographers. Aperture is hosting The Latin American Photobook Syymposium, an all day event free with RSVP.

Fountain presents A Shift in the Air May Bring Us Home site-specific work by David Waite Martinson and Troy Hagenbart. A mid-reception discussion will be moderated by BOMBLOG Poetry Editor Jozeph Herceg.

End your weekend at the New Museum where they’ll be staging a panel discussion Talking about my generation: Jill Johnston and the Critic as Subject. Panelists include BOMBLOG Dance and Performance Editor Lauren Bakst and Thom Donovan.

The Margaret Mead festival ends this evening! Don’t miss the screening of A Life Without Words followed by a Q&A session moderated by Ann Senghas.
